Construct Advanced Manufacturing Facility – Georgetown

This project will construct an 80,000 square foot advanced manufacturing learning center on a site which has been acquired in the Lane’s End Business Park in Georgetown/Scott County. The project was included in the 2006 budget authorization for design and site acquisition only in the amount of $1,500,000. The facility will provide customized training for all manufacturing companies in the region and will support the Bluegrass Economic Advancement Movement (BEAM) initiative to realize their goal of making the Bluegrass Region a premier advanced manufacturing area. With Toyota Motor Manufacturing expanding to include the production of Lexus, this project will meet their increased need for specialized manufacturing training in the Georgetown area.

NEWTOWN CAMPUS EXPANSION, PHASE II

This project will construct an 112,000 square foot facility which is Phase II of the Newtown Campus master plan. The facility will house general education classrooms, labs, faculty/staff offices, administrative offices and other student support spaces. This project will also include the renovation of the historic Laundry Building on campus. This project is needed in order to begin transferring programs from the Cooper Campus on University of Kentucky’s campus to the new Newtown Campus. Phase I to construct the Classroom Building was completed in 2013.
